Application development is also part of our software expertise. We mainly concentrate on developing web based applications; simply because, the same level of functionality offered by a stand-alone application can be re-produced with similar technology used for websites.
There are obvious benefits and advantages to web based applications, too, since the application will not require installation onto the individual computers and can run with the popular web browsers, regardless of the type of operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, Unix or Macs. This makes the distribution of the application a lot easier and less problematic. One other advantage is that the users will need minimal application training. The web based application functionality will appear very familiar to the average user, as it will bear many similarities to the way in which users navigate a website.

One of the most likely scenarios of a web application would be an internal Content Management System (CMS). One such example would be a project that we delivered recently, for Thomson Holidays. An application was needed to store and modify information on hotels around the world, which would then be used for printing brochures and for live feeds to company websites. The key to the success of the application we built for Thomson has been its accessibility, in that the only thing required to use it is a web browser. This allows resort users, as well as various departments within the company, to access it with ease.
